With their secret knowledge and intellect, with their will to upset the divine order and their revolutionary character, tricksters are shape-shifters. The Berlin Trickster Orchestra unites musicians of different musical traditions to a sound of trans-traditional music – a resounding mirror of the multiplural society.
In the premiere of the Outernational concert series - and with guests from Bangkok, Chiang Mai and Bangalore - the soloist ensemble deals with the question of change. How does the new come into the world? Through destruction, mutation, imitation, adaptation or revolution? Research on these questions and extensive workshops, made possible by the Goethe Institute within the framework of The Other Beethoven(s), flow into new compositions and improvisations. During the concert, the philosophers Timothy Morton and Wendy M.K. Shaw will reflect on the genesis of the new in an »Outernational Listening Session«.
