Where do we find sources of healing? What is the source of music, the breath? International soloists with references to different musical traditions negotiate these questions collectively. Audrey Chen experimentally interrogates her voice for its origins. Jessie Cox opens up spaces of the post-migrant future in a new composition for the collective. Monthati Masebe brings archival recordings of forgotten singing traditions from South Africa and invites us and the musicians* in her composition to a ritual of healing. Sami Waro from La Réunion composes influences from Maloya, the endemic music of the island, on his self-built electronic kora, a West African bridge harp. The Radialsystem hall becomes a "Sea of Islands" (Epeli Hau'ofa), in which open ends are improvisationally shaped and reconnected. An evening between unheard music, trance and healing, in which we can come together anew.
